About OrbitalIntel
OrbitalIntel is an independent reference site for the space economy. We explain the three forces reshaping orbit, military space and defense, satellite technology and communications, and space investing, in plain, durable language you can come back to.
We are deliberately not a breaking-news site. The space press already does that well. Instead, we write the evergreen explainers that news stories assume you already understand: what the Golden Dome missile-defense program actually is, how GPS jamming works, whether SpaceX is publicly traded and how ordinary investors can (and can’t) get exposure, and what the U.S. Space Force does day to day.
How we’re different
- Reference-first. Every page is written to stay accurate for months, not hours, and is updated when the facts change.
- Sourced. We build on public, open-source information, agency filings, published contracts, primary documents, and link out to primary sources.
- No hype. Space is full of promotional noise. We flag speculation as speculation and separate what has flown from what has been announced.
- Independent. OrbitalIntel is not affiliated with any government agency, contractor, or the companies we cover.
What we cover
We organize everything into four areas. The defense section explains military space, missile defense, hypersonics, anti-satellite weapons, and the sensors that watch orbit. The satellites section covers how spacecraft and satellite communications work, from geostationary satcom to low-Earth-orbit broadband. The investing section answers, neutrally, how ordinary people can and cannot get exposure to space companies. And the Space Force section explains the newest branch of the U.S. military. We deliberately do not try to cover launch-by-launch news; the space press already does that well.

Curious readers, investors trying to understand a fast-moving sector, students, and professionals adjacent to aerospace and defense who need a fast, trustworthy orientation on a specific topic.
